aquatic THERAPY
PT Guided Aquatic Therapy in one of our indoor, in-ground heated therapy pools
Aquatic therapy may be included as a component of the rehabilitation program prescribed by our board-certified medical doctor. Aquatic therapy is physical therapy that takes place in our heated in-ground indoor therapy pools under the supervision of ORC’s licensed and trained healthcare professionals.
Aquatic therapy is also known as water therapy, aquatic rehabilitation, aqua therapy, pool therapy, therapeutic aquatic exercise, or hydrotherapy.
Thermal effects (heat) relax injured muscles, increase circulation, alleviate pain, and reduce muscle spasms and guarding. Buoyancy of the pool water reduces stress on the joints and facilitates therapeutic exercise to help increase range of motion, strength, endurance, and power. It is also used for gait training.
